➡ Chickpeas are pulses that should be a part of the baby's healthy diet.

➡ You can give cooked squashed chickpeas to babies from the age of 8 - 10 months.

➡ If you give below-mentioned ages, it may because of gas problems to your baby.

➡ If your baby is adjusted to eating the peas, gradually move to mashed chickpeas with vegetables.

Instructions

Preparation:


Clean the bowl and spoon by placing it in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and immersed on the same vessel until use.

Method:


1. Wash and dip the potato and tomato in hot water for 5 minutes to get rid of the worm if any.

2. Use a peeler to remove the skin of potatoes.

3. Remove the seeds from the tomato.

4. Then chop potato and tomato into equal small sized cubes.

5. Wash the chickpeas and pressure cook it with a cup of water for 6 whistles.

6. Once the pressure released from the cooker, open it.

7. Steam the chopped tomato and potatoes pieces in a steamer for 15 minutes.

8. You can also stream it using idli steamer plate by adding a cup of water or you can use pressure cook with a cup of water for 2 whistles.

9. Once the tomato and potatoes are steamed by anyone of the method.

10. It will be soft and transparent.

11. Now blend it along with cooked chickpeas and some water to make a mash.

12. Now, the healthy chickpeas mash with vegetables is ready to feed your baby.

Extra Tips:


1. You can try with any seasonal vegetables of your choice for making this recipe.

2. You can also replace chickpeas with white chana or even cooked moong dal.

3. Generally, chickpeas do not cause any allergies, but check for symptoms and if you find anything stop feeding.

4. Consult your paediatrician before giving any new foods to your baby.

5. Steaming is a healthy option for baby food than pressure cooking.

6. So I prefer steaming using an idli steamer.
