Preparation:

Clean the bowl and spoon by placing it in the vessel with hot water for five minutes and immersed on the same vessel until use.

Method:

1. Wash and dip the cauliflower in hot water for 5 minutes to get rid of the worm if any.

2. Wash the carrot and potatoes and with water, use peeler to remove the skin of carrot and potatoes.

3. It can be cut into equal small cubes.

4. Steam the chopped cauliflower, carrot and potatoes in a steamer for 15 minutes.

5. You can also stream it using idli steamer plate by adding a cup of water or you can use pressure cook with a cup of water for 2 whistles.

6. Once the cauliflower, carrot and potatoes are steamed by anyone of the methods.

7. It will be soft and transparent.

8. You can mash it by folk until it gets mashed.

9. Mix rubbed cheese to the mashed vegetables.

10. Now, the healthy and coloured mashed vegetable is ready to feed your baby.

Extra Tips:

1. Select fresh potatoes with a less brown spot for baby food.

2. My advice is to give potatoes and cauliflower to babies after they completed 8 months.

3. If you give earlier, it may cause gas problems.

4. Generally, cauliflower, potatoes and carrots do not cause any allergies, but check for symptoms and if you find anything stop feeding.

5. Consult your paediatrician before giving any new foods to your baby.

6. Steaming is a healthy option for baby food than pressure cooking.

7. So I prefer steaming using an idli steamer.
