Preparation:


Clean the bowl and spoon by placing it in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and immersed on the same vessel until use.

Method:


1. Wash and dip the apples in hot water for 5 minutes to get rid of the worm if any.

2. Use the peeler to remove the skin of an apple.

3. Remove the seeds in the centre part after cutting the apple vertically into 2 pieces.

4. It can be cut into equal small sized cubes.

5. Steam the chopped apple pieces in a steamer for 5 minutes.

6. You can also stream it using idli steamer plate by adding a cup of water or you can use pressure cook with a cup of water for 2 whistles.

7. Once the apple is steamed by anyone of the method.

8. It will be soft and transparent.

9. Now blend it with some water to a soft paste in a blender.

10. Now, the healthy apple puree is ready to feed your baby.

Extra Tips:


1. You can try puree with red delicious and gala apple variety when your baby prefers sweetness in food.

2. Select apples that are infirm and dis-coloured.

3. Generally, the apple does not cause any allergies, but check for symptoms and if you find anything stop feeding.

4. Consult your paediatrician before giving any new foods to your baby.

5. Steaming is a healthy option for baby food than pressure cooking.

6. So I prefer steaming using an idli steamer.
