âž¡ Pear is one of the great first food next to apple for babies.

âž¡ As it contains a smooth texture, easy to digest and less likely to cause allergies.

âž¡ Pear is rich in fibre and vitamin C.

âž¡ It is a great remedy to relieve baby's constipation.

âž¡ It can be given as steamed recipes to babies from 6 months.

âž¡ After 8 months, we can give peeled raw food into small pieces as finger food to your baby.
âž¡ If your babies didn't like to eat plain pear puree, you can add cereals or other fruits like apple, sweet potato or banana etc.

Selection Method:


âž¡ choose ripen pear for baby food.

âž¡ To ripe pear, store them outside instead of the refrigerator.

âž¡ A good ripen pear need not be cooked, gentle steam can be enough for babies less than 8 months.

Instructions


1. Wash and dip the peas in hot water for 5 minutes to get rid of the worm if any.

2. Use the peeler to remove the skin of pears.

3. Remove the seeds in the centre part after cutting the pears vertically into 2 pieces.
4. It can be cut into equal small sized cubes.

5. Steam the chopped pears pieces in a steamer for 5 minutes.

6. You can also stream it using idli steamer plate by adding a cup of water or you can use pressure cook with a cup of water for 2 whistles.

7. Once the pears are steamed by anyone of the method.

8. It will be soft and transparent.

9. Now blend it with some water to a soft paste in a blender.

10. Now, the healthy pear puree is ready to feed your baby.

Extra Tips:


1. Instead of blending the pears, you can mash it with a fork.

2. Generally, pears do not cause any allergies, but check for symptoms and if you find anything stop feeding.

3. Consult your paediatrician before giving any new foods to your baby.

4. Steaming is a healthy option for baby food than pressure cooking.

5. So I prefer steaming using an idli steamer.
